Alice L. Spencer

Alice L. Spencer, 78, of Danville passed away on April 11, 2018. She was born on September 13, 1939 in Goreville, IL the daughter of Samuel and Lula (Davis) Black. She married Ray Spencer on September 24, 1966. He preceded her in death. Alice will be deeply missed by son, Dwayne (Angela) Spencer, sister, Orpha Lee Sullivan, grandchildren; David Nibbe, Aystin Spencer and Zaqure Spencer, step grandchildren; Stephanie Attebery and Charles Elijah (Rolland) Norrell, special nieces and nephews; Daniel Spencer, John (Stephanie) Kerst, Marcella Havenar, Angie Barbaras and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 6 siblings. Alice loved to sew, watch TV shows, listen to gospel music, go shopping and visit with friends and family. Alice was a very caring person and loved to be well prepared for life's journeys. She was always very proper and aware of her self-image. Alice was a member of Homer New Life Church. A celebration of life graveside service for Alice will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Oakhill Cemetery in Danville. She will be laid to rest after the services. Memorials can be made in her name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville are in charge of arrangements.
