Alice E. Toots Niccum, 84, of Danville passed away at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the Hawthorne Inn in Danville. She was born in Crete, Illinois on October 30, 1922, the daughter of Harry and Mabel Baker Curry. Alice married James H. Niccum on September 24, 1945 in Deming, New Mexico. They celebrated 58 years of marriage before his death in 2004. She is survived by a son, Jim and his wife, Peggy, along with several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two sons, James Ray and Jerry Lynn, a sister, Hazel Reese and a brother, Donald Curry. Alice retired from the Fred W. Amend Co. (Chuckles) in 1975 after 28 years. She was a member of Bakers and Confectioners Union and Trinity Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, gospel music, flowers, and was an avid Cubs fan. A celebration of life service for Alice will be held at Sunsets Community and Life Tribute Center (formerly Lakeside-Barrick) on Monday, January 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating Pastor Dave Garver.
