Alice Faye Cooke, 68, of Westville, died at 1:20am, Thursday, August 27, 2009, at home surrounded by her immediate family. She was born the daughter of Francis and Ruth (Reeves) Moreman on February 13, 1941. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Moreman and Ruth (Reeves) Wilson, and brother-in-law, Mick Burrus. She will be missed by: her husband of 51 years, Louie Cooke, whom she married on February 21, 1958; her daughter, DaLee Dee-Dee (Jim) Kennedy; and granddaughter, Kiersten Nicole Kennedy, who was Alices Little Treasure and Gammers called her Nee-Nee. Mom liked boating, water skiing, as well as dancing, and collected depression glassware. She was excellent at cooking and sewing, she had sewn her daughters wedding gown. She had the sharpest memory and loved seeing her family come through the back door to sit a while and talk at her kitchen table. She enjoyed all her babies, her kitty cats. Mom looked forward to her daily phone calls with her close sister, Jo-Jo. She was the center of our family and we miss her deeply. Now life will not be the same. There will never be another Alice Faye. She will also be missed by: her sisters, Shirley Burrus of California & JoAnn (Oakie) Jones of Fairmount; her brothers, Larry (Dorie) Moreman of Danville, Dennis Wilson of Danville, & Robert (Dorothy) Moreman of Westville; and two special cousins, Marol Lee (Ed) Knight & Diane (Ralph) Reed. She attended Fairmount, Fairchild, & Douglas grade schools and Danville High School. She received her GED from DACC. She worked for GE, Hurletron, and Beef House.
