Alice Albert, 89, resident of Danville, died 11:19 A.M. Saturday (May 26, 2018), at her home with her family by her side. She was born Aug. 29, 1928 in Georgetown, IL, She was the daughter of Allen and Hallie Carter Maudlin. Alice graduated from Georgetown High School and Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. She married Charles F. Albert in 1952 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 2012. Surviving are two sons, Fred A. Albert of San Diego, CA, Jim E. Albert of Suwanee, GA and a daughter, Anne (Albert) Gregorie of Gainesville, GA. 6 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. She is also survived by her brother Dr. Thomas Maudlin of Cissna Park, IL. Alice taught for District 118 until her retirement. She devoted her life to her family, friends, her students, and her church. She also loved her flowers and she was known by all for her beautiful flower gardens. She will be remembered for her warmth and generosity. A celebration of Alice's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 29, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday. Private Entombment will take place at Sunset's Swan Court Chapel Mausoleum.
