Alfred Wayne Wise

Danville- Alfred Wayne Wise, 63, of Danville, passed away at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana at 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday July 2nd, 2014. He was born on November 8, 1950 in Danville, the son of Albert & Vera (Grimes) Wise. He married Janice Mullen on December 13th, 1992. She survives. From his previous marriage to Patricia (Lee) Wise, came his two beloved children: Jennifer J. (Gary) Reffett of Oakwood, IL and Michael (Shannon) Wise of Herndon, VA. He is also survived by his precious four grandchildren: Emma Wise, Joshua Wise, Aaron Wise and Katherine Reffett. He is also survived by his mother, Vera May Wise and a close first cousin, Walt (Nancy) Grimes, who have provided much love and support to Wayne and Janice Mr. Wise was preceded in death by his father, Albert Wise and his brother, Paul Wise. Wayne graduated from Armstrong High School in 1968. He worked for many years for Lee Inc. of Oakwood. He then went on to work for Cross Construction Company in Urbana. Wayne was known for his special ability to operate heavy equipment. He enjoyed going to the Oakwood truck stop to visit with his dear friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Wayne was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #841 and attended the Bowman Avenue United Methodist church, where he and Janice enjoyed the fellowship of their church family. A celebration of Waynes life will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Sunsets Oakwood Chapel in Oakwood with Rev. Jim Williams (or Rev. Dennis Divan) officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Sunsets Oakwood Chapel. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park & Gardens.
