Alexander Williams

Alexander Williams 76, of Covington, Indiana passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019.

He was born in 1943 in Cincinnati, OH to Benjamin and Margaret Williams.

After graduating from Hughes High School in Cincinnati at age 18, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, retiring after 25 years; he also worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Danville, IL, retiring after 20 years in 2005.

His hobbies included watching his children participate in football, band, assisting with their Boy Scout/Girl Scout troops, cooking ribs, woodworking, flea markets and his 1969 Mercedes.

Alex is preceded in death by his parents Margaret & Benjamin Williams; a brother, Marvin Williams.

Surviving family left to cherish his memory include brothers Benjamin, Vernon and Theodore Williams; sisters Irene McCoy and Margarite McKinney, all of Cincinnati, OH. His children: son TK (Rachel) Williams of Oceanside, CA; daughters Nedra Williams of Hemet, CA and Alexis Williams of Baltimore, MD; his wife, Sharon (Ricketts), son Owen and daughter Margaret Williams, all at home; special son Joshua Baldwin of Waverly, NE, and daughter Heidi (Curtis) Crook of Satellite Beach, FL; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 1:00PM at the Danville National Cemetery, VAMC. A celebration of life with place and time to be announced at a later date.
