Alene Willis

Danville Alene Willis, 79, of Danville passed away at 9:40 AM on March 1, 2023 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.

Alene was born on July 19, 1943 the daughter of Russell and Irene (Abernathey) Jones in Danville, IL. She married Robert Willis on October 12, 1963 in Danville, IL and he survives.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Willis of Danville, IL, one daughter, Brenda (Todd) Wakeland of Oakwood, IL, grandchildren, Tiffany (Jordan) Nagle, Brandis Sprouls, Ashley Sprouls and Todd Wakeland II, great grandchildren, Zayda, Trae, Ahna, Layla, Lincoln, Brylee and Liam, as well as her special friend, Judy Middleton and her dog, "Gidget".

Alene is preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.

Alene worked at Quaker Oats/PepsiCo for many years and retired in 2005. She enjoyed collecting Precious Moments figurines, working word search puzzles and watching Fox News. Alene loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Miles Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
