Alberta M. Wimsett

Howard, Ind. - Alberta M. Wimsett, 95, of Howard, passed away at 6:50 p.m. EDT Monday, April 1, 2013 at her residence. She was born January 4, 1918 in Canton, South Dakota, the daughter of the late Albert and Rose Buffington Oakland. She married Daton H. Wimsett on June 12, 1948 in Yuma, Arizona. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1989. Survivors include six grandchildren: Linda Bowling of Covington, Indiana; Daniel Reissmann of Kingman, Indiana; Michael(Tamela)Reissmann of Williamsport, Indiana; Laura(Dave)Wheeler of Rockville, Indiana; Ray(Kathy Amburn)Reissman and Wayne(Melanie)Reissmann both of Kingman, Indiana; nine great grandchildren: Jared, Danielle, Alan, Noah, Zachery, Morgan, Anna, Megan and Devin; three great great grandchildren: Paige, Emma and Eliott. Alberta was preceded in death by her daughter, Marian Reissmann; one great grandson; two sisters and five brothers. Alberta was a homemaker. She was a member of the Waterman Baptist Church in Lodi, Indiana. Alberta enjoyed working on crafts, needlepointing, embroidering and being very active in her church and activities. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Friday, April 5, 2013 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. William Lehman; Burial: Friends Chapel Cemetery in Scottland, Illinois; Visitation: 11 a.m. EDT Friday, April 5, 2013 until time of services at the funeral home.
