Alberta L. Fields

Covington, Ind. -- Alberta L. Fields, 86, of Covington, passed away at 12:30 a.m. EDT Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at I.U. Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born August 13, 1925 in Cayuga, Indiana, the daughter of the late James and Bertha Dickerson Hartman. She married John R. Fields on September 5, 1944 in Terre Haute, Indiana. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2004. Survivors include one daughter, Cathy(Jim)Moffett of Crawfordsville, Indiana; two sons, Terry R.(Christine Haines)Fields of Danville, Indiana and Dennis(Rita)Fields of Valparaiso, Indiana; five grandchildren, Tonya(Todd)Bess of Brownsburg, Indiana; Jennifer(Ryan)Kindig of Brook, Indiana; Jordan(Joseph)Puglisi of Kansas City, Missouri; John T. Fields of Silver Spring, Maryland and John L.(Rachel)Moffett of Lafayette, Indiana and eight great grandchildren. Alberta was preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers. Alberta was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church east of Covington. She was a 1944 graduate of Cayuga High School. Alberta enjoyed quilting and spending time with her friends and family. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Salem United Methodist Church east of Covington, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Stanley Hicks and Rev. Garland Pannell; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Friday, August 26, 2011 at the church; Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington, Indiana. Contributions may be made to the Susan G.
