Alberta L. Clem

Alberta L. Clem, 89, of Danville, passed away at Hawthorne Inn on Sunday, June 23, 2019. She was born in Longview, IL, to Louis and Dora (Messman) Stuebe on July 25, 1929. She married Kenneth E. Clem on September 17, 1950, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Broadlands, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.

Alberta leaves behind three daughters, Tamarra (Anthony) Ellis of Catlin, IL, Gail (Jeffrey) Siddens of Ellisville, MO, and Cindy (Roger) Heath of Danville, IL; six grandchildren, Addison Ellis, Blaine Ellis, Aaron (Maureen) Siddens, Dylan Siddens, Ryan (Dora) Heath, and Taryn (Jordan) Chesrown; six great- grandchildren, Ali Heath, Noah Heath, Christian Heath, JD Chesrown, Reagan Chesrown, and Baby Boy Siddens; one sister Shirley Rodda; and many nieces and nephews.

Alberta graduated from the University of Illinois with a masters degree in education. She taught for many years and retired from Edison Elementary in District 118. She had many hobbies which included sewing, crocheting, camping, traveling, and watching Illini football and basketball. Alberta loved spending time with her family most of all. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019, at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Kent Tibben. Burial will be in Homer GAR cemetery in Homer, IL. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville.
