Alberta M. Bardell, 83, of Georgetown went to Heaven at 2:05 a.m. Saturday August 29, 2009 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village. She was born October 18, 1925 to Clarence and Nettie Robertson in Fairmount, IL. On September 17, 1953 in Mifflinbury, Pennsylvania, she married George E. Bardell. Her husband and parents preceded her in death. She became a member of the Georgetown Nazarene Church at the age of twelve, where she was a teacher, director of junior church and choir member, attending presently at Olivet Church and a choir member. She was a charter member of the Vermilion County Community Action Program and a Charter member of Troop 287 of the Boy Scouts of America. Also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Dornblaser 203. She had been employed by the U.S. Treasury dept. during WWII and SS Kresge Co. of Danville, IL and Lloyd Knowles Insurance, and the Danville Polyclinic Ltd. Her hobbies were liquid painting and embroidery, quilting, and especially reading her Bible. She is survived by three daughters: Grace Irene (Robert) Hawkins of Plainfield, IN, Lisa Darlene Bardell of Largo, FL, and Wanda Ruth (Timothy) Smith of Alto Pass, IL. Two sons: George E. Bardell Jr. of Georgetown, IL/Cayuga, IN, And Clarence (Monika) of Indianapolis, IN. She has eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Three sisters: Mary Reed of Danville, Lorene Luce of Georgia, and Josephine (Robert) Kern of Olivet. Five brothers: Harvey (Lynn) of Danville, Leo (Emily) of Las Vegas, NV, Lawrence (Emma) of Colorado Springs, CO, Claude (Ilene) of Georgetown, IL, Herman (Barbara) of Monteca, CA and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
