Albert Laverne Johnson Jr., 73, of Danville passed away at 2:58pm on Thursday February 13, 2020. He was born on December 12, 1946 in Danville the son of Albert and Phyllis Johnson Sr.

Albert is survived by his wife Georgene Johnson; sons, Randal (Sherrie) Johnson, Rodney (Amy) Johnson; daughters, Kelly (Trey) Etcherson, Sandra (Brian) Ingram; grandchildren, Rebecca, Katherine, Allie, Danielle (Nathan), Brady Mia; step-grandchildren, Hunter, Brittany, Tyler, Lianna, Shelby, Broden, Noah, Riley; great grandchildren, Damian, Logan, Parker and Holland.

He is preceded in death by parents and best friend Tommy Reynolds.

Albert graduated from Catlin High School class of 1965 before working at K Mart where he met and fell in love with Georgene Martz. The two married on April 16, 1966 and have spent the last 53 years together. Throughout his life Albert worked at his familys business A and J Auto Service in Catlin, Songer Chevrolet and Masterguard. Albert was drafted in the United States Army and spent several years overseas in Germany. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Chicago Cubs, Illini, Chicago Bears and Bulls. In his spare time Albert enjoyed fishing and even set a record for the largest fish at Kickapoo.

Albert adored his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Albert will be cremated as per his wishes. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 are handling his arrangements.

Memorial donations may be placed in Alberts name to Riley Childrens Hospital or St. Judes Hospital.
