Albert J Kinney

Danville Albert "Al" J. Kinney, 83, of Danville passed away on May 2, 2020 at his home in Danville, IL.

Al was born on January 15, 1937 the son of William J and Helen L. (Stener) Kinney in rural Catlin, IL. He married Judith Ann Stevenson on January 4, 1959 in West Lebanon and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Judith, one son, Steven (Julie) Kinney of Westville, IL, two daughters, Christy (Arthur) Potts of Sunset Beach, NC and Sheila (David) Switzer of Bismarck, IL, one brother, Kenneth (Doris) Kinney of Collinsville, IL four sisters, Edith (Joe) Earl of Lakewood, CO, and Lois (Ronald) Warner of Catlin, IL and Jeanie (George "Nokie") Conklin of Danville, IL as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Al is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, John Kinney and Joseph Kinney, Charles Kinney and William Kinney and one sister, Dorothy Peevler.

Al is a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and a Catlin High School Graduate. He served in the United States Army Reserves and attained the rank of SP-4 and retired from Heatcraft with over 50 years of service.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Dave Anderson will officiate. Private family visitation will be held from 1:00 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene or the charity of the donors choice.
