Alaina Jene Landis

Alaina Jene Landis, 23, of Danville, passed away at 3:32 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born February 28, 1981 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Donald A. and Becky S. (Cowgur) Landis. Alaina is survived by: her mother- Becky S. Landis of Danville; her father- Donald A. (Barb) Landis of West Lafayette, IN; maternal grandparents- Maxwell and Roberta Cowgur of Chestnut, IL; paternal grandparents-John and Jene Landis of Drasco, Arkansas; a very special boyfriend- Zachary Carrington of Danville and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Her maternal and paternal great-grandparents preceded her in death. Alaina graduated from Bismarck High School in 1999. She had attended DACC, and wanted to finish her education to become a school teacher. She was an active member of East Park Church of Christ in Danville. In the church, she was involved with the youth group and really enjoyed teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed scrap booking, old movies, and enjoyed all different types of music - with the Beatle's being her favorite. She also loved animals, especially her own pets. " Alaina was a very loving, sweet, kind person who was always very considerate of others. Everyone who ever knew her loved her - she touched so many hearts. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her."
