Aileen M. Weaver

AILEEN MAXINE WEAVER Aileen Maxine Weaver, 97, of Danville, passed from this life at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the home of her daughter Carolyn and her husband Peter Tschomakoff, in Murphysboro, IL. She was born January 11, 1914, in Edgewood, IL, daughter of the late John and Della Brown McArtor. She was preceded in death by her parents and by nine brothers and a sister. Aileen married Merle Weaver in Champaign, IL, on May 24, 1936. He predeceased her in 2002. Her survivors include three children: Jim Weaver of Washington, DC, Carolyn (Peter) Tschomakoff of Murphysboro and Robert (Sandra Ribbe) Weaver of Danville; five grandchildren: Evan (Jill Wood) Weaver, Ivan (Margarita Popova) Tschomakoff, Zheina (Chris Biedron), Brad Weaver and Tracy (Darren) Bodine; and ten great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Tyler Weigang), Phillip (Chy Ann Koepp) Weaver, Lindsey Weaver, Kristina and Diana Tschomakoff, and Hannah, Lucas, Owen, Ava and Eliza Bodine. Aileen and Merle Weaver moved to Danville in 1939. They were active members of Plymouth Congregational Church and Danville United Church of Christ. In addition to singing in the choir, they formed lifelong, active friendships with a large group of those church members. Their home, particularly when they lived on Lake Vermilion, was the scene of almost weekly gatherings of family and friends. Aileen loved maintaining an open house, and helping friends and neighbors in countless ways. She was active in PTA, and with Cub Scouts and Brownies. From 1965 through 1970 she worked with children with special needs as a teacher's assistant at Hooton School in Danville. She always believed this was both a wonderful opportunity and one that required great dedication - something she felt privileged to offer. She lived a full life, touched the lives of many, and will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Funeral service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville; Officiating: Rev. Connie Moodie; Entombment: Sunset Memorial Park; Visitation: 1 - 2 p.m., immediately prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Aileen's name to TIP Hospice, Murphysboro, IL, or the Danville United Church of Christ.
