Agnes T. Leemon

Danville Agnes T. Leemon, 96, of Danville passed away on February 8, 2019 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Agnes was born on December 15, 1922 the daughter of John J. and Margaret (Gordon) Morrissey in Gifford, IL. She married Joseph "Red" E. Leemon on November 16, 1946 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2005.

Survivors include her son, Joseph Leemon, Jr of Champaign, IL; two daughters, Kathy (Darrell) Myers of Fairmount, IL and Nancy (Robert) Grimes of Oakwood, IL; two sisters-in-law, Marge Leemon of Virginia and Sona Morrissey of Danville, IL; sixteen grandchildren, four step grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren as well as several special nieces and nephews.

Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joe "Red" Leemon, one brother, John (Lois), three sisters, Margaret (Richard), Mary Ellen (William) and Ruth Ann and one brother-in-law, Robert.

Agnes was a member of St Pauls Catholic Church, Ladies of the Rosary, the Elks and Boat Club and was a Volunteer at USMC Hospital Logan Campus. She enjoyed spending her free time with her family, bowling, taking bus trips to St Louis Cardinals Baseball games and was an Illini Mens Basketball fan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday February 12, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St Pauls Catholic Church, 1303 Walnut Street Danville, IL with Father Bowan Schmitt officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, February 11, 2019 from 4:00 7:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, 3940 N. Vermilion Street Danville, IL with a 3:30 Rosary Service prior to Visitation. Agnes will be laid to rest with her husband at Danville National Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Schlarman Academy in lieu of flowers.
