Danville- Arvel G. "A.G." Dunagan II of Danville, died at 3:35 PM on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at his home. He was born on April 8, 1944 in Danville to Arvel G. and Fern Talbert Dunagan. He married Dorothy Kay Van Camp on August 25, 1973. She survives. Also surviving are mother Fern Dunagan; three children, Janet (Jr.) Sidwell of Danville, Andie (James Jr.) Baum of Danville, and Billy Vance of Danville; six grandchildren, Jessica Creviston of Westville, Ashlee (Donald) Mullinex of Charlotte, NC, Heather Sidwell of Cayuga, IN, Danielle Valatka of Danville, Miranda Vance of Danville and Dalton Vance of Georgia; great-granddaughter Chloe "Bird" Doan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother Danny Dunagan, and granddaughter Trista Jo. A.G. retired from CSX railroad in 2004 after 42 years of service. He was a good bowler and was proud of his two "300" games. He also enjoyed woodworking but especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of A.G. Dunagan II will be held at 4 PM on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Doug McCord will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 PM prior to the services. The family requests you feel free to wear casual dress. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or the American Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Institute.
