Mary Adeline Meeker went home to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday, October 8, 2006 at 11:20 PM at Provena United Samaritans medical Center in Danville. Adeline was born in Blackshear, GA on November 5, 1922, the fifth of eight children of James Lawton and Mamie (James) Bennett. She graduated from Patterson High School, Patterson, GA in 1940 and then from business college in Waycross, GA. She was employed by Brunswick (GA) Pulp and Paper Co. as a lab technician and in 1947 was a lab technician at Lakeview Memorial Hospital in Danville. From 1965 to 1982 Adeline worked as a medical assistant for the late Dr. Paul E. Hepner. On August 25, 1946 Adeline married Everett Meeker Jr. in Brunswick, GA. They farmed for 57 years in Rileysburg, IN where she was secretary of Meeker Farms Inc. Besides her loving husband, Adeline is survived by their son, Ronald Everett (Peggy) Meeker of Memphis, TN; their daughter, Judy Carol (John) Weese of Landisville, PA; grandchildren Justin Weese of Akron, OH, Brandon (Carly) Weese of Columbia, PA, Megan Meeker of Memphis, TN, Angela (Dennis) Burchfield of Danville, Samantha Meeker of Chicago, IL and great grandchildren Lee Anne and Luke Burchfield of Danville; other survivors include her sisters, Mamie (Reed) Severin of Waycross, GA, Melda (Richard) Van Iderstyne of Jekyll Island, GA, her brothers, J.L. Bennett of Mershon, GA., Harold (Mary) Bennett of Mershon, GA, and sister-in-law Oletha Bennett of Mershon, GA. Adeline is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Newell Bennett and Dorsey Bennett; sister, DeAlva Roberts; brother-in-law, James Roberts; and sister-in-laws Georgia Bennett and Ruth Bennett. Adeline was an active member of Central Christian Church of Danville, a member of the Co-Wed Class and as a Deaconess Emeritus. She was also active in the Christian Womens Followship and the Perrysville, IN Home Ec Club.
