Addie Barbara Dimmitt

Danville- Addie Barbara Dimmitt, 78, of Danville passed away at 11:14 AM on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born on April 17, 1934 in Warsaw, KY to Henry D. and Mary Belle Courtney Trinkle. She married William H. Dimmitt on September 26, 1953. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1982. Surviving is a son, William (Mae) Dimmitt of Tilton; and special friend, Gene (Late Myrtle) Hinkle. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Mary, Sandra, and Dorothy, son Chester L. Dimmitt, and a daughter, Nancy A. Dimmitt. Barb had worked at the Diamond School Kitchen, TB Sanitarium, and Americana. She was part owner of Danville Book World with Kay Wilson, and served as the Secretary and Treasurer for Oakhill Cemetery Association for many years. She enjoyed Yahtzee, puzzles, cards, Bunco, ice cream, and watching "Survivor" on TV. A service to celebrate the life of Addie Barbara Dimmitt will be held at 10 AM, Monday, August 13, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM on Sunday, August 12, also at Sunset in Danville.
