Ada Snook

Ada Marie Snook, 96, of Westville, passed away at 12:30am, Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born on March 7, 1924, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Charles and Jeanetta {Connor} Cadle. She was united in marriage to William Harvey Snook on December 23, 1940, until his passing on February 1, 2004. Ada is survived by: her son, Charles William (Linda) Snook, Sr. of Westville; her daughter, Susan Mackiewicz of Westville; her grandchildren, Chuck (Deanna) Snook, John (Nancy) Mackiewicz, Charla Brewer, Danny (Becca) Snook, & David (Alicia) Snook; her 15 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Danny Snook; her daughter, Patricia Ann Snook; her sister, Cleadis Haun; her grandson, Allen Mackiewicz; her great grandson, Lukas; and a special loved one, Rita Snook. Ada worked for many different factories in the Danville area, as well as some nursing homes. She attended Danville schools, but was especially proud of finally achieving her goal of GED while she was in her 50s. She loved to read her Bible. She also enjoyed playing cards and games, as well as cooking for her family. Ada loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. A Celebration of Adas life will be held at 12:00pm (noon), Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883. Visitation will be 10:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday prior to her service at the funeral home. It is kindly requested that face masks be worn, and social distancing is practiced by those in attendance of the visitation. A private burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Danville. Memorial donations may be given in her name to American Lung Association or St. Judes Childrens Hospitals.
