Ada Mae Gooden, 91, died in Inverness, Florida on April 28, 2006. Ada was born on March 15, 1915 in Talbot, Indiana to John and Cornelious (Howard) Dobkins. She grew up in that area and then Married James Blaine Gooden on September 1, 1934 in Hoopeston, Illinois. He preceded her in death. She spent most of her life in Hoopeston and worked for the Hoopeston Memorial Hospital for over 15 years. The joys of her life were her home and children. In addition to her own children she also raised 35 children. She enjoyed listening to music while sitting on her front porch, embroidery and traveling to Louisiana, California, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Florida. She was a person who sacrificed herself for the good of others and never uttered a bad word about anyone even if they hurt her. She also loved fer white poodle named Ringo. In 2004 she moved to Inverness, Florida to be near her daughter. She is survived by her children: Patricia Dooley of Hoopeston, IL; Peggy Vailes-Coleman of Inverness, Florida, Judy King of Hoopeston, IL, Jimmy Gooden of Rossville, IL and Phyllis Williams of Bourbonious, IL; a brother: Donald Eugene Dobkins of Danville, IL; 21 Grandchildren; 41 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: James; her mother and father: John and Cornelious; a daughter: Pauline Kopman; Sisters: Helen Schroeder and Arvetta Morgeson; Brothers: Floyd and Richard Dobkins; Grandsons: Jerry and Timothy Dooley.
