A. Wayne White

A.Wayne White, 64, of Covington, IN passed away on Wednesday December 13th, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Wayne was born the son of Glen and Bessie Jane (Ross) White on October 15th, 1953 in Danville, IL. Wayne married the love of his life Theresa Morris on October 21st, 1978 whom he enjoyed 39 years with. She survives him. Also surviving Wayne are two children; Kristi (Dennis) Rogers of Catlin, IL and Ryan White of Covington, IN, one grandson Dawson Rogers of Catlin, IL, five brothers; Chuck (Jean) White of Marshall, IL, Norlyn White of Ohio, Gary (Artie) White of Linton, IN, Jim (Renee) White of Perrysville, IN and Glen (Rosemary) White of Catlin, IL, three sisters; Glenda (Les) Sykes-Lohman of Pendleton, SC, Lana Taylor of Robinson, IL and Teara Kincade of Seymore, IN, also many nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents. Wayne worked for forty-five years in the grocery business, during that time he always said he had worked with some amazing co-workers, employees, mangers including good friends Tom Hast and Dwayne Roderick. He enjoyed working with "The Gang" at Covington Foods Family immensely. Wayne enjoyed working in the yard, traveling, going to his grandsons sporting events and spending time with his family. Wayne did not know a stranger, he loved helping anyone. He had a great sense of humor and always made people laugh. Wayne was an eight-year cancer survivor due to his brother Glen's selfless act of donating his bone marrow. His family can't express in words how thankful we are to him. A special thank you to Dr. Robert P. Nelson and all the physicians, nurses and techs at Indiana University, in Indianapolis who took such great care of Wayne. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. A visitation for Wayne will be held on Saturday December 16th, 2017 at Sunset's Covington Chapel 420 3rd street Covington, IN from 2-6 pm est. A Celebration of Wayne's life will take place at 6pm est. at the funeral home. Wayne's family asks in lieu of flowers that memorials be made in Wayne's name to Covington Food Pantry.
