A. Ramona 'Mona' Rosnett

Mona was born on April 25, 1929 the daughter of Frank S. and Iva Gertrude (Richardson) Rosnett in Rossville, IL. Her family lived and farmed in the Fairmount and Rossville areas before moving to Oakwood and, later, west Danville. She was raised in the Nazarene faith and had a beautiful voice, often singing with her brother and sisters. Mona was also an amazing artist, painting black-and-white photographs for Sudlow Studio. After graduating from high school, Mona worked as a book binder at Interstate Printers in Danville and then in maintenance at the University of Illinois She then moved to Tucson, AZ. where she lived for 30 years and worked in maintenance at a junior high school. She moved to Savoy in 2001. Survivors include several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Mona is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Rosnett and five sisters, Virginia Osborn, Sylvia Metcalf Piper, Judith Bowles, and Freda Rosnett and Mary Elizabeth Rosnett, who both died young. Mona enjoyed spending her free time cooking and was known for making wonderful candies and cookies. She loved her family and dogs dearly and never meet a stranger and in true Rosnett fashion was a "hugger. She also enjoyed shopping and dining out, especially El Toro where she could get a margarita. She had a passion for automobiles and was proud of her cars, keeping them in pristine condition. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Stan Evans will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00 PM on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the funeral home.
