A. Fern Priest

Danville - Alberta Fern Priest nee Holden, 87, of Danville, lost her battle with cancer in the early morning hours on Sunday February 8, 2015. Fern was born on January 24, 1928 the oldest daughter of Tressie and Harvey Holden. She married Donal Priest on August 24, 1946. He precedes her in death having passed on September 25, 2005. Fern is survived by one daughter Donna (Don) Reynolds of Danville, two sons, Gary Priest and Scott Priest of Danville; two sisters Mary Lou Terry of Danville and Wilma Ellis of Potomac; five grandchildren Greg (Beth) Reynolds, Jennifer (Tim) Dittmar, Amy McQuown, Amanda Priest, and Jeremy (Mindy) Priest; and ten great-grandchildren. Fern is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Edith Pletch, and three brothers-in-law, Bill Pletch, Jack Terry, and Bob Ellis. Fern retired from R & S Printing in 1962. In her younger years, she enjoyed spending winters in Florida with her husband and camping in their motor home. She had an amazing talent for crocheting and sewing and used it to make afghans, quilts, doilies, and ponchos for her family that will be cherished for years. A celebration of Ferns life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday February 11, 2015 Sunset Funeral Home, a life celebration center, in Danville. Pastor James Blue will officiate.
